The Dog Mall

Okay the "Dog Mall" is not technically in the fan but you can get there fairly quickly than heading out to the mess that is Short Pump to the Short Pump Town Center! The "Dog Mall" is also called Stony Point Fashion Park. Marie and I have a 1 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who is very friendly with dogs and people. She get so excited she often rolls over and licks you as you pet her. Now today (Saturday) we plan to go out on the town tonight with some friends, so we thought it will be a great idea to take our pup exploring the Dog Mall. Long story short I'm glad the dog enjoyed it because handling 2 cups of coffee, an excited corgi, and a wife that really just wants to go home and take a nap it was way overrated. Even though most of the stores have the Dog Friendly signs in the door, you feel extremely out of place bringing your dog into an atmosphere with brand new $400 handbags. You do not have anytime to browse or even look at the shiny new Maui jims. So most of the even was walking down the Saks wing and sitting about 9 times so the pup could catch her breath from pulling the leash so hard. Next time we will get a shoulder harness. The water fountains that the mall provides are way too high for small to medium dogs. But some of the stores are nice enough to put small dog bowls out and the pup enjoyed it very much. So while marie and myself could pass on heading back there with a pup ever again we were very glad to have a worn out corgi when we arrived back home. And she loved the attention of I would guess 50 people that she licked today.
